OJSC M. F. Stelmakh Polus Research Institute is nationally accredited scientific organization that conducts active policy, both on retention of the existing human resources, and on preparation, attraction and retention of young high potential staff.
There are three successful basic academic departments of the leading physics and technical higher education institutions of Moscow at the M.F. Stelmakh Polus Research Institute – “Quantum electronics” of Physical and Quantum Electronics faculty of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT):
511600 – “Applied Mathematics and Physics”; “Laser technology” of Electronics and Optoelectronics faculty of the Moscow State Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation (MIREA): 200300 – “Electronic devices”;
“Laser and microwave information systems” of Informatics and Telecommunication faculty of the Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM).
The best scientific teaching personnel of the enterprise consist of 11 professors and more than 20 associate professors and assistants.
Every year at the basic academic departments of the enterprise about 25 graduates successfully defend diplomas of bachelor, specialist and master.
Since 1988, the postgraduate study department, both full-time and part-time, licensed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation to conduct educational activities in the sphere of the postgraduate professional education with a following specialization, is organized and successfully operates: 05.27.03 – “Quantum electronics” and 05.11.07 – “Optical and electro-optics devices and complexes”.
Recently requalified Higher Attestation Commission and Dissertation Council No. of 409.003.01 on defend of doctoral dissertations and dissertations of Candidate of Technical Sciences with specializations in: 05.27.03 and 05.11.07 successfully operates at the institute for many years.
Three research and educational centers (REC) were created at the OJSC M.F. Stelmakh Polus Research Institute: “Joint nanotechnology research and educational center” together with National University of Science and Technology (MISIS) and Moscow Power Engineering Institute; “Nanophotonics and laser physics” together with Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT); “Small-sized monocrystal materials” together with geological faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University; Study center “Materials and processes of quantum electronics” together with Lomonosov Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technologies (MITHT). The purposes of creation of the centers are to improve quality of scientific and teaching personnel, to increase effectiveness of the incentive system of scientific work, to create the incentive system of young people flow to the sphere of science, education and high technologies and their retention in this sphere, etc.
In addition, the institute is the participant of the joint REC “Laser physics” created by Moscow State Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation (MIREA) and Lebedev Physical Institute (FIAN) Department of quantum radiophysics.
