Since 2011, Shvabe has been cooperating with the Moscow Institute of Engineers in Geodesy, Aerophotography, and Cartography (MIIGAiK).

The key spheres of cooperation are:

• Development of fundamental and applied research in electro-optical instrument engineering, global satellite navigation systems, and modern technology in geodesy, digital cartography, and navigation.
• Performance of scientific, research, experimental, and engineering activities and application of their results to the educational process and personnel training in electro-optical and satellite instrument engineering.
• Engagement of highly qualified employees of the Holding, as well as graduate students, undergraduates, and specialists of MIIGAiK in joint projects.

Shvabe organized an academic competition among MIIGAiK students based on modernization of a number of the Holding's projects.

Shvabe plans to establish a scientific cluster at the site of MIIGAiK to develop new products and to train young specialists oriented to the Holding's requirements.
