At a Shvabe Holding enterprise they started to accept applications for employer-sponsored education at one of the best technical higher educational institutions in Russia.
In line with the Russian government decree "On the state plan to train scientists and specialists for organizations within the military-industrial complex for the period 2011-2015" the Holding enterprise, the Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant, annually recruits high school graduates for employer-sponsored education. This is paid for out of the federal budget for the leading institutes of higher education in Russia. In 2015, as a result of the contest, 2 high school graduates will be selected to receive an education at the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics, and Optics. The specialities chosen for training will be "Instrument engineering" (a bachelor degree course) and "Laser appliances and laser technologies" (a bachelor degree course).
"In order to create innovative products, Shvabe requires talented specialists. The "Employer-led enrollment" project enables us to attract really gifted young people to our enterprises. In 2014, 349 people obtained a good education across 68 Russian higher educational institutions under the Holding's sponsored programs", reported Viktor Samoilov, Shvabe's deputy general director for staff development and logisitcs. An internal contest at the Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant for applicants to receive employer-sponsored training in Saint Petersburg will take place in March 2015. The selection of candidates for full-time education at the Saint-Petersburg National Research University will be made according to the results of the competitive university selection process (which is conducted according to the results of USE (Uniform state exam)). The enterprise will draw up contracts for employer-sponsored training for those applicants with the best results.
