Shvabe held a round table on urban modernization

The meeting was held within the framework of the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021". Rostec State Corporation Shvabe Holding discussed the prospects and problems of implementing various component subsystems of "Smart City" departmental project into Russian regions.

Representatives of ministries, state corporations, business and financial organizations joined in the discussion and shared their experience of implementing private urban solutions. Shvabe Deputy Director General for Sales Development, Marketing and Service Support of Civilian Products Sergey Dmitrochenko described the Holding's efforts in this area.

"Creation of comfortable cities is one of the most urgent tasks currently facing our country. "Smart City" departmental project was created to address it; companies with necessary competences and solutions take part in implementation. Our Holding also performs regular activities in this area. Some of the proposals developed within Shvabe are aimed at innovative solutions supporting urban environment and smart urban transport projects," noted Sergey Dmitrochenko.

The tasks solved by Shvabe major projects can be attributed to the Smart City subsystems, in particular, the maintenance of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Moscow, where thousands of traffic lights, security and traffic infringement cameras and other technical solutions are operated by Shvabe-Moscow Holding Company. The second initiative, is the organization of architectural and artistic illumination of the main cultural sites and installing the energy-saving equipment by the Holding’s Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after E. S. Yalamov. E.S. Yalamov into the streets of Nizhny Tagil as part of the "Luminous City" program.

The implementation of these projects has made it possible to improve road safety and reduce the number of traffic accidents, and notably in the case of Nizhny Tagil, also helping to improve the overall quality of life.

Other activities aimed at infrastructural improvements include the replacement of power meters and the development of water treatment technologies. Earlier, Shvabe launched Astrakhan region pilot water supply project and also joined the Digital Vodokanal consortium.
