Ivan Ozhgikhin, Shvabe Deputy General Director (Civil Production, Marketing & Service) talks about the developments presented at the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM-2017 in Yekaterinburg, about plans to increase the share of civil products in the total revenue of the holding, about signed agreements and export supplies in his interview to Olga Erachina (RIA Novosti)

— Please, tell us about Shvabe civil products presented at the exhibition.

—  As always, Shvabe Holding presented several segments at the INNOPROM exhibition within the stand of the Rostec Corporation.

The first segment is complex equipment of medical institutions. It is, for instance, an interactive medical ward, which is a part of the product manufactured at the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ), one of the holding enterprises.

It allows to create the most comfortable environment for patients in the resuscitation and intensive care units and in rehabilitation wards. The ward has such modules as aromatherapy and color therapy, it is fully integrated into the telemedicine system. Within the framework of this ward we demonstrate here the equipment that can be used in the resuscitation units: an anesthesia-breathing apparatus with a built-in ventilator, working on four gases, including xenon gas; monitor equipment; electrocardiograph with automatic analysis and decoding of electrocardiograms, which is very important for remote territories, for equipping paramedic stations, for screening different age groups of population.

Besides, we presented ophthalmological and gynecological equipment, an automatic defibrillator, which can be used in crowded places, and also, by people who do not have professional medical education. It is very important, especially for the prompt first aid dressing to a person. Also, the whole medical unit is presented. It is a line of neonatal equipment, which is installed in resuscitation and intensive care units in perinatal centers. Shvabe Holding has already got a successful experience of not only production of this apparatus, but also the equipment of perinatal centers.

— Where are the perinatal centers equipped with the Shvabe products located?

— Projects in Bryansk, Pskov, Nazran, Makhachkala, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk, and Penza have been and are being implemented, 15 cities all together.

— What other segment was presented by the Holding company at the exhibition?

— Another direction is a ‘Smart City’. Rostec State Corporation within the framework of the "Konversia" enterprise is implementing an ecosystem project in which Shvabe holding and its enterprises participate. The project provides for several areas, including the one called the ‘Bright City’. We have already got positive results in Nizhny Tagil, signed an energy service contract with Ulan-Ude and with other regions.

Within the ‘Smart City’ framework we presented ‘Genesis’, a line of new high-precision geodesic satellite equipment. Another direction is ‘Intelligent transport system’. It includes everything related to the system infrastructure: traffic lights, road signs, lamps, photo and video cameras, speed measurement devices, weight control. All the above listed equipment is produced by such enterprises of Shvabe holding, as the Urals, Krasnogorsk and Zagorsk optical and mechanical plants, Polyus Research Institute.

Apart from the infrastructure in the form of ‘hardware’, we are working on software solutions. At the exhibition we presented a wide range of the latest optical instruments: sights, target designators, thermal imagers. The camera, which allows to see in the fog, at night, under bad conditions, various binoculars, range finders, glasses with different coatings, microscopes - from optical microscopes to laser ones – all those exhibits were very popular.

— You have already mentioned the hospital ward. Was its implementation in the Almazov Research Centre successful? What are the further plans for the project?

— Currently, the mounting of two wards is coming to a completion. Representatives of two more regions visited our stand and wished to have the same units in their leading medical institutions. I do not want to run ahead and name these regions. The only thing I can say is that one region has ordered three wards, and the other one - two.

— What is the current year dynamics of the civilian product output as compared with the past?

— Our task is to increase the output by not less than 20% in 2017 vs 2016. We keep to the schedule. Civil products currently make about 30% of total revenue. The task is to reach at least 47% by 2020, and not less than 81% by 2025 .

— What companies did you hold negotiations with at the INNOPROM exhibition?

— We negotiated a lot. We had talks with our partners who make development of our innovative competitive products possible, such as the Federal Center for Neurosurgery and its general director, Chief Doctor Albert Sufianov. One of our Novosibirsk enterprises, Defense and Protection, signed an agreement with Andrei Rudsky, the rector of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University named after Peter the Great..

The subject of the agreement is joint cooperation in development of civil instrument making. They represent science, we are an industrial partner, we also complement their ideas with our experience and start mass production. Also, we negotiated here with the regions - representatives of Kaluga, Yaroslavl regions, Tatarstan, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk region. The benefit of this exhibition is that it is held in the center of Russia. All regions were present here, both from the east and from the west of Russia. We agreed on cooperation with Vnesheconombank. We signed an agreement with the Russian Export Center. As for exports, we have developed a joint road program. Besides, we closely cooperate with the Industrial Development Fund, with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, with the Russian technology platform, etc. Involvement of partners from different areas allows us to fulfil tasks on production and sale of civilian products.

— And as for the export potential of the Holding, is supply of Shvabe civilian products growing? If so, then to what countries?

— It is the cooperation with the Russian Export Center that allows us to ensure further growth of exports. It is a good tool. The programs that the Russian Export Center is currently offering are very relevant for us.

This includes business missions, and organizational support in terms of certification, financial support, assistance in logistics, customs issues.

We interact with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives from 40 countries attended INNOPROM this year, and we carried out intensive negotiations with foreign delegations. The line, that was introduced, is in demand in many countries. So, I think that INNOPROM is just a good push for increasing exports. Now we are entering a new level of interaction with the CIS countries, with the Eurasian community: Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and, traditionally, Kazakhstan and Belarus. New markets for us are the markets of Latin America, the markets of North Africa and Asia: they are Iran, Pakistan. We have already started negotiations.
